What is Discngine Admin Center?

Discngine Admin Center is a web-based administration platform that serves as your organisation's central hub for managing user access and applications within the Discngine ecosystem. It provides a unified interface for managing user accounts, permissions, and application access across all Discngine products and services available to your organisation.

Key Capabilities

  • Centralized User Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights from a single interface
  • Application Access Control: View and manage which applications are available to your organisation and users
  • License Monitoring: Track license usage across your organisation to optimize resource allocation
  • Group Management: Organize users into groups for efficient permission and license management
  • Self-Service Access: Enable users to view their access rights and manage their profiles independently

How It Works

The platform serves two main user groups within your organisation:

  • Organisation Administrators: Business administrators who manage users, groups, applications, and licenses within your organisation
  • End Users: Individual users who need to view their access rights, manage their profile, and access their assigned applications

Discngine Admin Center integrates with your organisation's identity provider (such as Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Okta, or other OpenID Connect-compliant systems) to provide seamless single sign-on (SSO) capabilities. This ensures that user authentication aligns with your organisation's existing security policies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How can I access the application?
  1. Ask your Discngine Account manager for an invitation link (with your corporate email)
  2. Log in via the URL provided in the email
  3. Use single sign-on (SSO) if configured by your organisation, or set up a password

Authentication and Access

Why am I redirected to Microsoft (or another login page) during login?

Your organisation uses an identity provider (such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, etc.) for authentication. This automatic redirection is based on your email domain and enables single sign-on with your organisation's existing credentials.

I can't log in, what should I do?

Check that:

  1. Make sure you are using your corporate email
  2. Make sure with your corporate IT that your account is not disabled
  3. Make sure with your corporate IT that your account is authorized to login to the Discngine platform (through a group membership)
  4. Contact support@discngine.com if the problem persists.
Does my session expire automatically?

Yes, for security reasons, sessions automatically expire after a period of inactivity.

User Management

These questions are relevant for Organisation Administrators. See the User Management guide for detailed procedures.

How do I invite a new user?

Navigate to Users and click New User. Fill in the user's email, name, and assign licences/groups. See User Management for step-by-step instructions.

A user is not receiving the invitation email
  1. Verify the email address is correct and belongs to an authorized domain
  2. Check the user's spam/junk folder
  3. Verify your organisation's email security policy isn't blocking emails from Discngine
  4. Resend the invitation from the user's edit page
What's the difference between "Disable" and "Delete"?
  • Disable: Blocks access but keeps all user data. Can be reactivated later.
  • Delete: Permanently removes the user and all their data. This action is irreversible.

Applications

How do I request a new application for my organisation?

Contact your Discngine representative to discuss available applications and licensing options. You can also submit a request through support@discngine.com.

An application doesn't work after it's been made available
  1. Verify that the application URL is correct and accessible
  2. Try accessing with a different browser
  3. Clear your browser cache and cookies
  4. Check that you have the necessary permissions — contact your organisation administrator
  5. Contact support if the problem persists

Licenses

See the License Management guide for detailed management procedures.

What types of licenses are available?
Type Description
Global Unlimited access for your entire organisation
Named User Individual licence assigned to a specific user (limited quantity)
Credit Pool of credits shared among users for certain applications
What happens if we exceed our license limit?
  • Warning notifications appear in the administration interface (the license row turns red)
  • Existing users continue to function normally
  • You may be contacted about license adjustments to ensure continued service
How can I optimize license usage?
  1. Regularly review active users and their application usage
  2. Remove access for users who no longer need specific applications
  3. Use groups to efficiently manage licenses and permissions
  4. Consider a Global licence if you have many users for a particular application

Groups and Roles

See the Group Management guide for detailed procedures.

What's the difference between a group and a role?
  • Group: A collection of users with similar access needs (e.g., "Crystallographers"). Created and managed by your organisation administrators.
  • Role: An application permission set (e.g., "Administrator", "User" within a product). Roles are attached to groups and licences; a user inherits them from their groups and assigned licences, and they take effect inside the application at login. (Separately, access roles — Organisation Administrator, Application Administrator — govern what someone can do in the Admin Center itself; see Access Roles.)
Can a user belong to multiple groups?

Yes. Their effective permissions are the combination of all permissions from their groups. If the same license is granted through multiple groups, it only counts once toward your license usage.

Troubleshooting

The application is slow
  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies
  2. Check your internet connection stability
  3. Close unnecessary browser tabs
  4. Restart your browser
  5. Use a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge
I'm getting an "Access denied" error
  1. Insufficient permissions: Contact your organisation administrator to verify your access rights
  2. Session expired: Log out and log back in
  3. Temporary issue: Wait a few minutes and try again
  4. Maintenance in progress: Check for any maintenance notifications
My changes are not being saved
  1. Ensure you have a stable internet connection
  2. Check that your browser isn't blocking popup windows
  3. Verify all required fields are properly filled out
  4. Confirm you have the necessary permissions for the changes
